The Millville High School football team will meet Pennsauken for the South Jersey Group IV title on Friday, Dec. 2 at Rowan University.

S.J. Group is traditionally one of the state's toughest enrollment groups.

This is the seventh straight year a CAL team has reached the Group IV final. CAL teams are 2-4 in those titles games. The West Jersey Football League (more specifically Cherokee) is 3-1 and the Shore Conference 1-1 in S.J. Group IV title games during the same span.

Here's the breakdown

2005: Cherokee 32, Absegami 25

2006: Absegami 27, Cherokee 26

2007: Toms River North 22, Mainland 19

2008: Mainland 21, Southern 14

2009: Cherokee 14, Egg Harbor Township 0

2010: Cherokee 33, Oakcrest 6.

Much is made of the rivalry between the CAL and West Jersey football teams.

Since 2005 (including this season), the CAL is 12-10 against West Jersey teams in the Group IV playoffs. (I know the West Jersey didn't start until a year or two ago. Counted teams that are currently in that league.)

The CAL is 4-2 against Shore Conference teams in the Group IV playoffs since 2005.
