The Hammonton High School football team can make a run at being No. 1 in The Press Elite 11.

That's because the Blue Devils (4-0) may play South Jersey's toughest schedule down the stretch. Hammonton is currently No. 4 in The Elite 11.

Hammonton hosts Ocean City (1-4) 7 p.m. Friday.

Here are the Blue Devils remaining games after this week:

Oct. 21: vs. No. 5 Holy Spirit (2-2)

Oct. 28: at No. 11 Atlantic City (4-0)

Nov. 4: vs. Absegami (2-2)

Nov. 26: at No. 1 St. Joe (4-0)

The Blue Devils should also be part of a South Jersey Group III playoff field that will probably feature No. 3 Timber Creek as the favorite.

Hammonton has outscored its opponents 137-22 this season. Running backs Jordan Brown and Russell Forchion have each scored six touchdowns for Hammonton. Quarterback Christian Mortellite has thrown three touchdown passes. Senior Nate Haden leads the offensive line.
