Villanova defensive coordinator Mark Reardon is the new St. Augustine football coach, the school announced Friday.

Reardon, a 1989 Holy Spirit graduate, lives in Margate. He was an assistant at Villanova for 11 years, the last seven as defensive coordinator. Reardon played at Holy Spirit and also at Layafette College, where he was a four-year starter at linebacker.

The school also announced today that Holy Spirit coach Chalie Roman is leaving the Spartans to join Reardon at St. Augustine as the Hermits' offensive coordinator.
