St. Augustine Prep names new soccer coach

Mario Monfardini is the new coach of the St. Augustine Prep boys soccer team, the school announced Friday morning.

Monfardini graduated from St. Augustine in 1994. He played for two state title team sat St. Augustine and is the third leading scorer in school history.

Monfardini coached Sacred Heart in Vineland the past two seasons and led the Lions to a 35-5-1 record and two Cape-Atlantic League National Conference titles.

Monfardini replaces Les Heggan, who retired this week.
