The Wildwood High School football team (2-3) will not play at Schalick (3-1) today.

Wildwood athletic director Christel Pond said the decision not to play was made weeks ago. Pond said Schalick has a relationship with Mount Pleasant of Delaware and wanted to play that school. Wildwood did not object. The scheduling change gives Wildwood a week off.

The Warriors, with about 25 players, struggled to field a team in the preseason but have been competitive in most of their games. Wildwood has two games remaining — home against Gloucester on Oct. 25 and at Pitman on Nov. 8.
