St. Augustine Prep pitching standout Zach Warren will continue his career at Tulane University.

Warren, who just finished his junior season, verbally committed to Tulane this week.

Warren, 17-year-old Vineland resident, was 6-1 with a 1.21 ERA for the Hermits last season. The left-hander throws 89 mph.

Warren is the second St. Augustine baseball player to head to Tulane. Hermits catcher Barry Buchowski, who just graduated and was The Press Player of the Year, is also headed to Tulane.

I've covered high school sports and variety of other events and teams - including the ShopRite LPGA Classic and the Phillies - since 1993.
