The city of lights, love and high fashion cannot be properly toured in three days. When I was in Bonn, the brother of my host mother told me a joke, which goes as follows:
A pair of American tourists wake up in a hotel, a husband and a wife. The husband and wife forgot where they were for a moment, so the husband asks his wife, "What day is it today?" The wife responds, "Wednesday." The husband waits a moment, then replies, "Wednesday? Must be Rome!"
That's what it felt like! We were too quick with everything. Provided, I understand why. We all have to get back to school, and the adults have to go back to work. I just wish I could have spent more than three hours in the Louvre.
I went to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, saw inside of Notre Dame, was 10 feet away from the Mona Lisa, ate crepes and Café Americain for lunch, walked past Cartier and Louis Vuitton (I was dying to go inside!) and got absolutely and thoroughly soaked. It rained the entire time we were there!
I would tell you all the details about what we did and how we did it, but that would take me hours and hours to write, and I simply don't have enough time! I barely uploaded my pictures yet! (PS - took 479, not bad). The bus rides to and from were 15 hours, yet I didn't sleep a wink because I can't sleep on buses. I came home this morning at 11, fell asleep at noon, woke up 15 minutes ago (6:30 p.m.), and as soon as I finish this, I'm heading straight back to bed!
Altogether, Paris was wonderful. I plan to go back, and enjoy my time there. I think one needs a week to see it, a month to fully enjoy it.
