Futures Game rosters announced, but no Matt Szczur this year

The rosters for the Futures Game during Major League Baseball's All-Star festivities was announced on Thursday.

Last year, Cape May County's Matt Szczur was on the roster, but his year he was left off.

The Futures Game selects 50 of of the best talented players from Minor League Baseball.

Szczur, who is with Single-A's Daytona Cubs (Chicago Cubs), was hampered with a knee injury this season. Szczur went on the disabled list on June 1. Although, he came off the DL on Wednesday, Szczur last played on May 31.

He's hitting .267 this season with a home run and 13 RBIs in 48 games. He also had 19 stolen bases.

Szczur started the season slowly, but over his last 10 games he was hitting .306 (11-for-36) with six runs and four RBIs.
