Spring football practice has essentially come to a close around the country. What always happens: players get moved to different positions, those fighting for spots either take a step forward or back.
Here are a several updates from locals on what they're looking at this spring.
- Penn State's Glenn Carson (Southern Regional) answered a few questions for Fight On State, a Scout site about Penn State football.
Carson thinks a lot is going on New Jersey this year when it comes to recruiting.
“I'm sure there is 'cause all the coaches we have on staff are really exciting people and have a good concept of the game of football,” Carson told Fight on State. “I think great things are going to happen there.”
- Rutgers' Ben Martin (Absegami) moved to cornerback from running back last week, Scarlet Knights coach Kyle Flood announced.
Lafayette's Andrew Anastor (Vineland) suffered a season-ending injury the first week of spring practice, according to The Express Times.
USC's Anthony Sarao (Holy Spirit) talks to Rivals.com about his progression this spring.
- Williams and Mary's Brent Caprio (Mainland Regional) is still in a quarterback battle, but Caprio is one of the leaders to land the job. He completed 9-of-20 passes for 103 yards in the annual Green and Gold spring game.
