The start of spring football has brought a couple of updates on Cape-Atlantic League graduates.

The first is on Tejay Johnson. The Egg Harbor Township graduate will miss all of spring practice with Rutgers University this year.

Johnson had a hernia repair, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood announced Monday at the spring practice press conference.

Johnson is listed as a wide receiver, but spent time last year on defense as well.

- Villanova wide receiver Norman White is back after a season-ending foot injury last year. White had a breakout year his junior season and even had many people talking about his NFL Draft implications.

However, the foot injury caused White to sit out the year.

The Wildcats started spring practice on March 19 and White, a St. Joseph's graduate, was named one of the team's co-captains. He was also a captain for last year's Villanova squad.

In 2010, White had 69 catches for 886 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named to the Colonial Athletic Association first team that year.

- William and Mary quarterback Brent Caprio focused on something else before the start of spring practice. He and his teammates held a car wash to benefit a charity in the Williamsburg, Va., area that helps women and children of domestic violence.

“We’re calling this the inaugural car wash,” Brent Caprio told the Virginia Gazette, “and we have plenty of other ideas. Given more time in the future, we may be able to do some other things.”
