GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - The Richard Stockton women's basketball team could clinch a playoff spot against Rowan University today at 1 p.m.

If the Ospreys defeat Rowan, they are in.

Stockton thought it made the team after its last win, but a forfeit in the league changed the Ospreys' record. They had an ineligible player and while the NCAA doesn't recognize the forfeited games, there is a rule in the New Jersey Athletic Conference that states league games will be forfeited if there is an ineligible player.

Stockton had to forfeit its 76-67 win over Montclair State on Dec. 3, dropping the Ospreys NJAC record to 4-7.

If Stockton loses the next two regular season games (Rowan, today and Kean on Wednesday) and Rowan wins both, the teams will finish the season in a tie. Then, we go to a coin toss to figure out who will make the tournament that starts on the 18th.

The road is easier for Rowan if they beat Stockton today. Stockton's next opponent is Kean, who defeated Stockton 72-53 on Jan. 25. Rowan would face Rutgers-Camden, who the Profs beat 65-57 on Jan. 25.
