San Francisco earned a third straight trip to the NFC championship game Sunday with a 23-10 victory over Carolina.

That means Ventnor native and Holy Spirit High School graduate Greg Roman will get a chance to reach the Super Bowl for the second season in a row.

Roman, 41, is the 49ers' offensive coordinator. He has held the post for the last three seasons after previously coaching with Niners' head coach Jim Harbaugh at Stanford.

The 1990 Holy Spirit grad is considered one of the top offensive minds in the NFL and has been mentioned as a candidate for one of the several head coaching vacancies in the NFL. However, he is now ineligible to interview for any openings until after next week's game at Seattle.
