Port Republic will reduce its municipal tax rate by 4.6 cents in a year when others saw tax rates rise and services cut.

Trish Zatorski, 37, pulls her 22-month-old daughter Juliet and her friend’s daughter Ava Cooper, 3, in a wagon in Port Republic. Zatorski moved to Port Republic seven years ago and says she enjoys the quiet life in the small city. ‘Even though we don’t have sidewalks, everyone respects the fact that everyone goes for walks,’ she says.
