Murphy joins
Ventnor firm
Amanda Murphy has joined Ventnor-based educational consulting firm Murphy Writing Seminars as assistant director.
She has a master's degree from the University of Delaware and experience as deputy director of the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, in arts management and for a London-based non-governmental organization.
Employers group honors JFS
Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties is the 2009 recipient of the Harold R. Hawkey Exceptional Employer Award, presented by the Employer's Association of New Jersey, recognizing best workplace practices and the role of human resources.
Lisa Witkowski, director of human resources, accepted the award on behalf of JFS.
John Sarno, president of EANJ, said, "JFS was chosen as Exceptional Employer 2009 for its ingenuity during challenging times. ... JFS's strategies were achieved at minimum cost, meaning that they can be replicated by most EANJ members."
Caring Inc. has appointed Linda Charney to social worker and Linda Bowser to assistant project director of Caring House Projects.
Trico Lift honored
for safety record
Trico Lift, the Millville-based aerial work platform company, has received the 2008 Contractor Merit Safety Award from the National Petrochemical & Refineries Association for the company's safe work performance at Sunoco Inc. Philadelphia Refinery.
Trico Lift is a past winner of the American Subcontractors of New Jersey's Annual Safety Award.
Maione appointedto utilities board
Atlantic City Electric Region President Vince Maione has been appointed to the New Jersey Utilities Association's board of directors. NJUA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and a unified voice in the public policy arena.
Maione began his career in 1984 with Atlantic City Electric. He lived most of his life in Hammonton, where he was twice-elected to the town council. He graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Caring hires two
Caring Inc. has appointed Linda Charney to social worker and Linda Bowser to assistant project director of Caring House Projects.
Charney was a social worker for Shore Winds Adult Medical Day Care in Egg Harbor Township and a school counselor and social worker for the Y.A.L.E. School in Northfield. She has a master's degree in social work from New York University.
A resident of Pleasantville, Bowser was senior clerk and mayor's aide for the city.
