The Metropolitan Business & Citizens Association will hold its annual Winter Luncheon Business Meeting on Thursday in the Traymore Ballroom, at Bally’s Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City.

This winter kickoff meeting of the MBCA traditionally has been the venue for the current Atlantic City administration to present its goals and plans for the New Year.

Mayor Lorenzo Langford will give the unofficial ‘State of the City’ address and will introduce his cabinet and administration.

The meeting will include the MBCA 2013 Membership Drive as the organization starts its 22nd year serving the Greater Atlantic City region. Memberships cost $125 for large businesses; $100 for small businesses; $50 for nonprofits; and $20 for individuals. Membership benefits include a bimonthly newsletter, e-blasts, reduced-cost luncheons, and advertising and promotional opportunities.

The membership drive will include prizes, such as gift cards from Cuba Libra and dinner at Sophia’s. The luncheon is sponsored by Green Lee Security Services.

Millville luncheon

The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce will hold a general membership luncheon on Wednesday at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in the city.

Gary Finger of the state Board of Public Utilities Division of Economic Development & Energy Policy will give a presentation for businesses and governments seeking to lower energy use and costs.

Finger will introduce free and low-cost programs available to reduce costs for existing businesses and to provide incentives for energy efficiency in new construction.

Before lunch will be 20 minutes of concerted networking.
