I just retired from being president of Ocean City Tabernacle. My work now is basically to help my wife at Goldcoast and to free up time for both of us for visiting grandchildren.
The Tabernacle is a Christian event center with summer worship and year-round local ministries, including pre-school and after-school programs, family Boardwalk events, Moorlyn Family Theatre, a youth center - it's a big operation.
I was at the Tabernacle for 11 years, all of them as president. Prior to that, I was a vacationer to Ocean City.
Goldcoast Sotheby's is one of the premier realty firms in Ocean City. We're in a new building now on 34th Street. We primarily handle sales and rentals, mostly in Ocean City.
I've handled mostly sales, and my wife is doing some of the rentals but she is also in sales.
This is kind of a fourth career for me and a third career for her. Becky also has a Ph.D., in English from Ball State University.
I was a university administrator, vice president for academic affairs for a couple of universities.
Before that, I taught college. I taught choral music. I've taken choirs on European tours and had some wonderful experiences.
What I like about my current work is the flexibility, and I've got a product I'm pleased to be selling - the city of Ocean City.
Our two grandsons have worked here in the summer and our granddaughters just love coming here for vacations. It's a great place to be and a great place to sell somebody a home, or to sell their house for them.
About me: I direct a community choir in Cape May Court House, I'm active at St. Peter's United Methodist and even do some occasional preaching. I'm a convinced Christian, which is at the heart of my value system and my life. And of course, most of all I like to spend time with my family.
