The Reeds is a brand new luxury boutique hotel in Stone Harbor.

This fills a need for a newer property for leisure customers, and the hotel was also built with events and meetings in mind. That's where I come in.

The developers want to expand the market with corporate sales, and help the hotel do business on a more year-round basis.

They've got great meeting space here. I service the corporate market for meetings, retreats, board events, things like that.

We have eight meeting rooms with about 10,000 square feet of space. We have some flexible indoor and outdoor spaces.

We have a wealth of corporate interests nearby, with the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, corporations with outlets in the Philadelphia area, and that's where we're concentrating on drawing meeting business.

The developers saw a great need for having newer, state of the art facilities to accommodate those types of companies.

Cold calling is a minor part of my work. We belong to trade associations and organizations catering to meeting suppliers. There are all kinds of trade shows and such that foster networking and lead generation and finding meeting partners.

I was at Revel prior to this for two years.

Entry: I was practicing media and entertainment law for about 12 years and lived most of my professional life in New York City. I'm from this area and in 2008 I moved to Los Angeles, because I'm a beach guy, and practiced law there too.

When I moved home, I decided I wanted a career change, and got into sales with the Revel project.

About me: I'm passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. I'm on the board of A Work in Progress, a foundation focused on building community gardens and educating city residents about eating healthy. In the summer I love going to the beach, surfing, traveling and cooking.
