Brenda Linnington, director of the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust and the BBB Military Line, will be the keynote speaker at the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce's 9th Annual Women In Business Conference on March 6.

The half-day conference will be held at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City and presented by 1st Bank of Sea Isle City and Sun National Bank.

Designed for women business owners, professionals and women seeking to advance in business, the conference will offer educational sessions, networking and business-building tips.

Linnington is a graduate of West Point, a U.S. Army veteran, a senior active duty military spouse and a mother of a soldier. She will share her learned experience of the "musts" for effective leadership in the business world.

Many residents in Cape May County know Linnington as the wife of Lt. Gen. Michael Linnington, of Lower Township.

The Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust provides ethics-based assessment, training and recognition programs.

The mission of BBB Military Line is to improve the financial readiness of and provide education to approximately 22 million current and former military members and their families.

Mayor to speak

Don Guardian, the mayor of Atlantic City, will address the Public Relations Council of Greater Atlantic City luncheon on Tuesday.

The mayor is expected to address the city's future plans, its image and how many voices are now working as one to move the city forward.
