Higher Path Healing offers classical Chinese medicine, including acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and nutritional counseling.

A typical treatment with classic Chinese medicine takes six to eight weeks.

We try to be of benefit for a range of things, such as the common cold, headaches, digestive issues, gynecological issues, and pain.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin pins into pressure points to help unlock the body's healing response.

For example, a patient today came in with atrial fibrillation, a heart issue. We discussed all of the issues around his complaint. I told him I'd try to treat that with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

We did a zinc test, a quick test for mineral deficiency.

We started acupuncture, with about eight to 10 needles from the head down to the feet. The acupuncture points are all over the body.

He relaxed for 35 minutes, and then we removed the needles. Next week I'll have some Chinese herbal medicine for him that I'll make myself, a Chinese formula consisting of eight to 12 herbs that I mix.

I have 60 to 70 different herbs available for formulas, which are based on written formulas from 3000 years ago that still have present day applications.

I do deal with insurance for state and county workers, who all have a type that allows me to bill. If insurance doesn't cover treatment, the cost is $95 for the initial consultation and treatment, and $75 for follow-up treatments.

Entry: I witnessed my father going through bypass surgery and thought there must be a better way to help the body. I was working at Cornell University, started to explore that, and experienced acupuncture.

I have a master's degree in Oriental medicine, I'm licensed by the state and am certified by the American Acupuncture Council.

There's still a lack of knowledge about the field. There is information on my website,
