The former Ascot Motel at Iowa and Pacific avenues in Atlantic City is being redeveloped into a TRYP by Wyndham, part of the Wyndham Hotel Group that encompasses 17 brands worldwide.

The company calls TRYP by Wyndham a select-service urban hotel brand. There are more than 90 hotels in the brand around the world, but the company's website lists just one in the U.S., a TRYP by Wyndham in Times Square, New York City.

Wyndham says TRYP offers several specialty guest room types, such as family rooms with bunk beds, and fitness rooms with exercise equipment.

Real estate developer and site owner Max Gurwicz Enterprises said previously the hotel will offer 73 rooms when completed, in time for this year's summer season.
