Cumberland Mall Gap to close Tuesday

The Gap store in the mall in Vineland is owned by San Francisco-based Gap Inc.

The Gap at the Cumberland Mall in Vineland will close on Tuesday.

"At Gap Inc., we're constantly reevaluating our real estate portfolio to ensure we have the right stores in the right places to best serve our customers," Gap spokeswoman Kari Shellhorn said.

San Francisco-based Gap Inc. - which has the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, Athleta and Intermix brands - has about 3,100 company-owned stores, 350 franchise stores and e-commerce sites.

Net sales were $16.1 billion in fiscal year 2013, the company reported.

The Vineland Gap is a company-owned store, Shellhorn said.

There are few Gap stores in the region.

There is a Gap Outlet location in Atlantic City. Other nearby stores are in Deptford, Gloucester County, and in Marlton, Burlington County.
