Pagano speaks about the business:

Escape Beauty Boutique is a full-service spa and salon offering individualized attention. We have one hair chair, one massage room, one skin-care room.

When people come here, our licensed staff takes just that one client at a time.

We do facials, peels, hair and hair coloring, nail care, pedicures, massage, makeup and waxing.

Escape Beauty has a facial membership program. That involves one upgraded facial every month at a discounted rate, and there are other benefits, as well. It’s like a gym membership, almost.

I’m an aesthetician. I love helping people find the right product to take care of their skin. Facials are the soul of the business.

For each skin type, there are products that will help someone’s skin age more slowly.

We use the Prestige brand skin-care line, which is among the top five skin care lines in the world.

People can come in for a complimentary skin assessment, a skin analysis with a licensed aesthetician and a 30-minute mini-facial.

We’ve moved into a larger space so we can offer more services to our clients while giving them the boutique experience. We were in a smaller suite in the same plaza and just did skin care there, under the name Simple Escape.

Our hair-care product line is called Enjoy. We’re putting in a shampoo bar at the boutique, so our customers can sample the shampoos before they buy them. They’ll be able to see the difference in a pH-balanced hair-care line as opposed to what they’re using right now.

We also do onsite bridal makeup and hair. We go to the bridal party and do everything they’d normally have to visit salons to get.

Entry: I attended Rizzieri Aveda School in Voorhees, studying skin care. I’ve been using the current line I offer since I was 12 years old, and I knew I could get great results for my clients with that line, so I opened my own place. I’ve always had that entrepreneurial spirit in my heart.

The future: We’d like to add another, similar space with the same boutique atmosphere.
