Business: Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa
Location: 2192 N. Second St., Millville
Owner: Helen and Tom McMenamin, of Mullica Hill
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa offers many different types of massages, facials and waxing.
Our signature massage is hot stone massage.
It's a full body massage, either 50 or 80 minutes long, and the therapist uses smooth, heated rivers stoners as an extension of their own hands.
The heat from the stones is deeply relaxing and helps warm up tight muscles, so the therapist can work more deeply into the muscles more quickly than without the stones.
They rub the stones all across the body.
We also offer couples massages, sports massage, deep tissue massage, reflexology or foot massage, and reiki, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, cranio-sacral therapy, neuro-muscular therapy and myofascial relief.
What's great about Hand & Stone is we offer first-time clients a 50-minute, Swedish-style massage for $49.95. That's also the price for our introductory facials.
If someone wants to try the hot stone out, the intro price for that is $69.95.
A classic facial starts with a deep pore cleansing, an exfoliation and minimal extractions.
A client can feel relaxed and pampered with a customized neck and shoulder massage, followed by a therapeutic moisturizer to soothe, protect and balance their skin. This is an excellent service for all skin types and a good monthly regimen.
We do all different kinds of waxing, from eyebrows, lips, chins, bikini, underarm.
Entry: My husband wanted to get involved with this franchise a while ago. We picked Millville because we think it's a great location and an up-and-coming area.
We're happy we picked the city because we've only been open a month and a half and we're growing rapidly.
I went to school for marketing and graduated from Rutgers University. My husband has been in business since he was 15 and he's a vice president of an auto dealership.
The future: We're going to add another location, and hopefully more than one, in the near future. We just signed contracts for a spa in Somers Point.
