Business: Drift Day Spa
Location: London Square Mall, 201 Tilton Road, Suite 13A, Northfield
Owner: Nora Price, of Smithville, Galloway Township
Drift Day Spa offers massages, facials, body treatments, waxing and makeup.
We have a coastal, beach theme, because we love the beach. We have a nice, large lounge with an oversized couch and comfy chairs.
We have ladies nights when groups come to catch up with friends, for bonding and treatments, and they use the room a lot. We have a package that includes a half hour massage, a half hour facial and a peppermint foot treatment that they like.
We have five treatment rooms, including a couples room.
We also have a makeup studio here. We do makeup applications and lashes. Usually people want it for bridal parties and special occasions.
I'm fortunate to have a popular skin treatment specialist here who owned an area spa at one time, and she has a large following.
We offer the Drift Classic Facial, our basic, which is $75 for 50 minutes and a Drift Seasonal Facial.
An age-smart hydrating facial, helps with collagen production and wrinkles through the use of peptides and exfoliation, is $80 for 50 minutes.
We have classic Swedish massage, $70 for 60 minutes; deep tissue massage, 60 for $85; warm stone massage, 75 minutes for $100; and a prenatal massage, 60 minutes for $75.
Our 75 minute body treatments include a Lavender Fields Body Wrap for $90, a skin rescue hydrating body mask for $95 and a body contouring treatment for $100.
Entry: I went to school for skin care after my employer closed at The Pier at Caesars. I worked in spas in Atlantic and Cape May counties, and had always wanted to own a business. I happened to find a doctor's office that had been vacant for some time, where we could create a nice peaceful environment.
The future: We're planning some events, such as a wedding dress tour on March 20. We'll give them a map to places nearby that are good for wedding planning.
Eventually maybe we'll have speakers come in who are knowledgeable about certain areas.
