Golden Heart Adult Day Care Center is an adult medical day care program. We’re licensed to take up to 64 clients. We take clients from age 18 to 100 plus.

We provide a safe, age-appropriate opportunity for adults with medical issues to live at home yet interact with people their own age, receive any personal assistance they might need, as well as the services of a registered nurse.

Our staff plans diverse activities to encourage people to stay mentally alert and physically limber. We do trivia games, long-term memory contests, an exercise group, arts and crafts

We’re going to be taking trips into the community, such as going to the library, shopping, going out to lunch. We’ll also do bingo. We’re going to have activities based on different cognitive levels.

Our program offers a continental breakfast, a catered hot full lunch and then an afternoon snack before the clients go home.

We provide door-to-door transportation. Our program hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We work in conjunction with the client’s physician and our main goal is preventive care and to keep the clients in the community as long as possible.

We also transport the clients to any scheduled medical appointments they might have during the day.

We’re inviting clients to come for a free visit day, whenever it is convenient, to see if our program fits their needs.

We really want to provide respite care so that if families have to work, their loved ones have a safe place to go during the day.

We also have a licensed, master’s level social worker on staff to help the client and their family access any community support they might need and to help with insurance claims.

We have elderly clients as well as younger clients, people who don’t need a nursing home setting but still need supervision and assistance during the day. We’re an intergenerational, smaller center with a family feel.

Our program is funded by medical insurance and county programs.

Entry: The owner also has centers in North Jersey. This is his first center down here.

The future: We’re also going to offer physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, if any of the clients have those needs.
