Atlantic Coast Urology has opened a new medical office in Manahawkin in southern Ocean County.
Dr. Matthew Tobin and his fellow doctors, who have offices in Brick in northern Ocean County and Neptune, Monmouth County, expanded their medical care to patients closer to the shore.
In September 2012, Tobin was recruited by Meridian Health Systems to bring Atlantic Coast Urology to Manahawkin to enhance urologic care in the region.
"We'd like to make sure our patients have access to top-quality urologic care with all of the recent advances, which includes robotic and laparoscopic surgery," Tobin said in a statement.
Among the wide range of other urologic services provided are: prostate, kidney and bladder care; minimally invasive urologic surgery; treatment for kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, voiding dysfunction and incontinence; and care for bladder cancer, prostate cancer and kidney cancer.
He said the practice incorporates state-of-the-art technology, advanced operative technique, physician expertise, and a dedication to a compassionate patient-doctor relationship.
Tobin graduated from Cornell University and received his medical degree from Columbia University.
He went on to receive his surgical and urology training from Harvard University in Boston.
He founded Atlantic Coast Urology with Dr. Charles Bellingham in 2007.
Bellingham received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and did his residency there as well.
Partners of Bellingham and Tobin in the multioffice practice include Dr. Michael Lasser and Dr. Deep Trivedi.
Lasser received his medical degree from UMDNJ's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and performed his residency at Brown University. He is also the medical director of robotic surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Trivedi received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and served his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
He is also director of minimally invasive urology at Southern Ocean Medical Center.
