Mazer speaks about the business:

At AvantGirl Blow Dry and Style Bar, we wash and blow dry your hair.

We also have a waxing service, but we don't do any cuts or coloring.

We'll do makeup application, including airbrush makeup application, waxing and up-dos.

This is a great place to come to get ready for a night out.

We offer mini-facials and individual sets and full sets of eyelashes. We offer private parties for bachelorettes, birthdays, girls' nights out, bat mitzvahs and Sweet 16s.

AvantGirl will have a hair society membership for frequent dryers. This is a beautiful place to come and relax, and be pampered.

We'll have later summer hours, so you come off the beach, shower, change and let us do the rest.

We'll do your hair and makeup and you'll be good for the night.

This concept is popular in metropolitan cities. I'm happy to introduce it to the women in Margate.

The blow dries will be $35 and up. Up-dos start at $70. There are express services, such as braids and top knots that start at about $20.

Basic makeup application is $60, and airbrush makeup, $75.

Parties will have a minimum requirement and will be held when the salon isn't open.

The cost will depend on the services the customer wants and whether they want lunch or hors d'oeuvres.

We'll be open seven days a week in summer, and in the off-season we'll have a reduced schedule.

Entry: I've been in the casino industry about 25 years. I grew up in Hammonton and moved to the Midwest. My husband and I were both in gaming and took jobs in Las Vegas.

I came back here and am starting all over. My daughters and I loved the blow dry bar concept. Everywhere we went, we wanted to get a wash-and-dry.

There wasn't one here, so here I am.

The future: It would be great to offer airbrush tanning and full extensions, but I don't know that we have the space for that. Maybe some day, we'll see how this pans out.
