The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will discuss how nonprofit organizations can benefit from student and faculty resources at a forum Wednesday in Manahawkin.
Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce is hosting it as one of its quarterly events for nonprofits.
The keynote speaker will be Daniel Tome, Stockton’s coordinator of service-learning. Tome will talk about opportunities for partnerships between community nonprofits and Stockton students and faculty.
Christy Cunningham, Stockton’s associate director of the Career Center; Donna Albano, associate professor of business studies; and Jennifer Barr, professor of business studies, will talk about how to find interns and establish mutually beneficial internships. Hurricane Sandy relief will be discussed.
‘We are excited to be hosting this forum to create partnerships and internships for Stockton students and Ocean County businesses and to continue supporting students, businesses and individuals in the recovery efforts’ after Hurricane Sandy, said Michele Collins-Davies, operations manager at Stockton’s Manahawkin Instructional Site.
The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and Destination Marketing Organization have held these meetings for five years, working with different nonprofit partners, to provide a better overview of what is available in the region. The theme for this forum is internships and service-learning partnerships.
The 2013 New Jersey Agricultural Convention and Trade Show will open Tuesday at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City.
In addition to exhibits from many of the industry’s suppliers and business associates, the Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey will hold educational sessions.
