Middle Township is encouraging anyone interested in opening a business or expanding an existing business to attend a free seminar for help and advice.

The Middle Township Economic Development Council will host a "Grow Your Business" seminar Wednesday at the Senior Center in Cape May Court House.

"Over a year of hard work has gone into pulling this seminar together," Deputy Mayor Tim Donohue said in a statement. "Through the efforts of the dedicated members of our Economic Development team, with help from a variety of experts, we have put together a multifaceted approach that should be helpful to new businesses, as well as established business owners. We want businesses far and wide to understand that Middle Township has its act together and is committed to facilitating responsible business development and quality job creation."

Featured speakers will include:

• Joe Molineaux from Richard Stockton College's Small Business Development Center, who will discuss new loan programs available and provide assistance to apply for these programs

• Mike Zumpino, chairman of municipal consultancy Triad Associates, who will talk about Middle Township Economic Development loans that are currently available

• Elizabeth Terenik, owner of Terenik Land Use Consulting, who will explain the zoning requirements that have been approved as part of the Middle Township Master Plan and what type of business can open in each of the zoned districts

• Carol Struett, chairwoman of the Middle Township Economic Development Council, will discuss the Middle Township Market Study.

Day at the races

Live racing, lunch, exhibit space and networking will be on the program at the Greater Atlantic City Chamber's day at the races Wednesday at the Atlantic City Race Course.
