The Somers Point Business Association on Wednesday will hear about a method for charting the path to business success.
Rich Hohmann, partner and senior business consultant at Innovative Leadership of the Delaware Valley, will present ‘How to Create a Simple Strategic Business Performance Process to Measure your Success.’
The association said the event will let Somers Point business owners learn how to use a simple process to formulate goals, gain the benefits of team effectiveness, implement a plan and monitor its progress.
The presentation will include methods for spending more time ‘on’ business as opposed to ‘in’ business, as well as show:
- how the process can help focus on what matters most to the owner and the business;
- how to connect business strategy to the employee for a more engaged and motivated work force;
- and how to allow for inside and outside ideas and innovation.
The Somers Point Business Association brings together businesses and professionals interested in the business climate of the municipality. It holds monthly meetings on timely issues and, with the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, provides business support. The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce will hear about upcoming requirements under the federal Affordable Care Act at its luncheon meeting on Wednesday.
Colleen Patterson, of human resources and payroll firm Primepoint, of Mount Holly, will discuss what’s required and what’s not under health-care reform, and what businesses need to start doing today to be in compliance.
Patterson, who helps create and administer employee benefit plans, will talk about act provisions effective now and those starting next year.
