Michele Sweitzer talks about the business:

Tranquility Body Wellness Massage wants to bring wellness to the community and make it easy for people to get therapy done without having to drive a long distance.

We offer a variety of massages, including Swedish, deep tissue, aroma therapy, pregnancy massage, myofascial massage, and we also offer body scrubs and body wraps.

For aroma therapy, we use a pure, certified therapeutic essential oil called doTerra. DoTerra doesn't do animal testing and double-checks its oils to make sure their product is pure.

Myofascial massage is the manipulation of the fascial tissue that's around everything in the body down to the cellular level. This therapy relieves the discomfort that comes from the restrictions of the fascial tissues.

We also offer hot stone massages and reflexology, massage of the pressure points in the feet for the whole body. We have a special massage that's half an hour and focuses on the head, back and shoulders - popular problem areas.

I'm a massage therapist for about 11 years now. I've worked in high-volume spas most of my career. I've also been an instructor for massage, and I've worked in a physical therapy office, so I know the body really well.

I do a lot of injury rehabilitation because I myself have had many injuries and I know what it takes the get the body back to where it needs to be.

Massage increases your circulation, decreases stress and anxiety, and can alleviate headaches and migraines, improve your range of motion and even aid in cancer treatments.

My father has suffered with cancer for more than four years now, and his doctors all recommend massage therapy.

Entry: Having spent a lot of time in high-volume spas, I felt I didn't have that personal connection with clients. I finally pushed myself into my own place, and my husband has been the driving force behind that.

The future: We'd like to educate the community about massage and offer classes and workshops. We're having a reflexology workshop at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7.
