Revel Casino-Hotel unveiled two promotions Monday, marking the casino's first significant attempt to lure gamblers to the property.
Starting Monday and continuing throughout the month, gamblers who lose between $100 and $100,000 on slots will have their losses incrementally refunded to their player's cards for future play.
Five percent of the total amount lost will be refunded each week starting Aug. 5. Players must make return visits to the casino each week to capitalize on that week's amount.
The casino also began a month-long initiative Monday to match slot promotions from competing Atlantic City casinos.
"We're really extending the olive branch to our customers," said Jeffrey Hartmann, Revel's interim CEO. "People are responding. This is where the action is in July."
Kaitlin Collins, 29, of Pittsburgh, was among the new visitors to Revel on Monday, making the first stop at the casino with a friend after visiting her mother in Easton, Md.
"We saw the promotion and that we'll get the money back on the card," she said. "We'll probably be back after this trip now."
