Richard Kull, the co-owner of several area Burns Kull Automotive Group dealerships and patron of several local charities, died Saturday at the age of 83.

Kull, of Ocean City, co-founded the Burns Kull Automotive Group in the 1970s along with Ed Burns, which included Toyota of Vineland, RK Chevrolet Kia and Subaru of Vineland NJ and Avalon Honda in Swainton, Middle Township.

The Atrium Lobby at Shore Medical Center is dedicated in honor of Kull and his wife, Mary Anne, both of whom were involved with the Shore Medical Center Foundation, and they also chaired Stainton Society fundraisers for the hospital.

Kull was president of the New Jersey Affiliate of the American Heart Association and a recipient of its Howard J. Dayton Award, chairman of the national Auto Dealers Association Charitable Trust Ambassador Program and the American International Automobile Dealers Association. He also was chairman of the Ocean City Tabernacle, where funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday.
