The South Jersey Transportation Authority is celebrating half a century with a series of monthly events leading up to its 50th anniversary on July 31.

One will involve the authority's Atlantic City Expressway and cars beyond the millions that use the toll road each year - classic and collectible vehicles.

On April 25, a week from today, the authority will hold the Atlantic City Expressway Classic Car Show & Arbor Day Celebration starting at 11 a.m. at the Farley Service Plaza on expressway.

The car show will be open to all classic makes and models of vehicles, and will be free to the public.

People are invited to vote for their favorite vehicle, and judges will present 15 winning categories with trophies and a special prize from HMS Host, operators of the Farley Service Plaza.

To mark Arbor Day, five trees will be planted.
