The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Atlantic County (RMGAC) are teaming up with the Friends of Linwood Arboretum to welcome the public to a free presentation entitled Thirty (30) Years as a Garden Communicator by Adam Levine, Editor in Chief of GROW, the magazine of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and author of A Guide to the Great Gardens of the Philadelphia Region.
Mr. Levine will be giving an illustrated lecture describing garden projects he has worked on over the years and noteworthy gardens he has visited. Along the way he will share ideas on effective communication about gardening.
Please join us on Sunday May 1, 2016, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Belhaven Middle School, 51 Belhaven Ave, Linwood, NJ.
A reception sponsored by Friends of Linwood Arboretum will follow the talk at the Linwood Arboretum which is located adjacent to Belhaven Middle School.
About Mr. Levine – He has written countless articles for publications which include Martha Stewart Living, Organic Gardening andThe Philadelphia Inquirer. Two of his articles have won awards from the Garden Writers Association (GWA). He has authored or co-authored five books including: The Philadelphia Flower Show, A Guide to the Great Gardens of the Philadelphia Region and The Layered Garden written with David Culp. The last two books received the GWA Best Book of the Year award.
The Rutgers Master Gardeners program provides community volunteers with 20 weeks of intensive horticulture training who then assist Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County in outreach efforts to support the home gardening needs of Atlantic County residents. Activities include answering consumer horticulture questions, designing and installing community demonstration gardens, and presentations at community events.
