Jeffrey Austin remembers sitting on the third-floor deck of his Margate home, overlooking the back bay on Sunday mornings as fishermen would cast their lines into the water.

Summers were spent at the community pool with his neighbors, hanging out and talking about the area.

The spacious property, located at 19 Seaside Ct. in Margate City, features a total of eight rooms, with four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

The first floor features a gorgeous eat-in kitchen with custom cabinetry, with stainless steel appliances and a double-sided fireplace for formal dining as well. Whether you want to cook and eat breakfast right in the kitchen and look out the front windows or host family parties, the options are there.

There is a large living room with curved walls leading to a powder room.

Austin said the architecture of the house is like no other.

“It’s very modern. It’s a lot of curves and makes it kind of unique with curved stairways going through it. It’s also very open as far as lighting with plenty of windows,” said Austin, who bought the home in 2010.

Also on the first floor is convenient slider access to a paved patio.

On the second floor is a fairly large master suite with vaulted ceilings, a Jacuzzi tub, private bathroom and built-in fireplace.

And if you are someone with an expansive wardrobe, the walk-in closet is perfect for a couple that needs plenty of room for storage.

Austin said that the home works for a family that either wants a summer home or somewhere to live year-round.

“It’s plenty big enough to entertain a lot of people for a summer home. And if you want it as your permanent address, it’s very artsy and artistic. You can have a study, computer room, whatever your hobbies are,” he said.

For the rest of the second floor, there are three more spacious bedrooms as well as another bathroom –perfect for the kids to share or for guests who are staying for a long weekend.

The third floor features a loft – perfect for either a gym, music room or any other type of layout to suit the hobbies of a family.

The third floor also has a deck overlooking the bay: a nice spot to unwind at the end of the day and there’s also plenty of natural light for the 2,500-square-foot property.

There are hardwood floors throughout, with central air in the house. There’s also a private yard with a shed and attached garage to the property as well as a large driveway with more off-street parking available for nights when you host a house of guests.

It’s a home that Austin says he will miss a lot.

“It’s a good feel. It doesn’t feel like a typical house, it’s got a lot going on,” he said.

The property is listed at $500,000. For more information, email Paula Hartman at redheadedrealtor@aol.com or call at 609-271-7337.
