ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS HAMILTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION ATLANTIC COUNTY, NEW JERSEY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT sealed bids will be received by the Hamilton Township Board of Education, for Door Replacement at the Joseph C. Shaner Elementary School (FVHD#4240), 5801 Third Street, Mays Landing, NJ, 08330, together with all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, PC Architects-Planners, (FVHD) www.fvhdpc.com. Sealed bids will be received for: SINGLE OVERALL CONTRACT (C009 / C047) Sealed Bids will be received on March 1, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time) by the Hamilton Township Board of Education, in the Administrative Offices located at 1876 Dr. Dennis Foreman Drive, Mays Landing, NJ 08330, and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter in the Business Conference Room. A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on February 16, 2012, at 2:00 P.M., at the Joseph C. Shaner Elementary School Main Office. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is recommended. Bidding Documents for the proposed Work are on file at the office of the Architect, FVHD, 1515 Lower Ferry Road, Trenton, NJ 08628, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during regular business hours. Any bidder should contact the Architect's Office at (609) 883-7101 to confirm availability of documents. The Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Architect upon deposit of $250.00 (Two Hundred Fifty Dollars) for each set, made payable to Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie. A separate non-refundable handling charge of $25.00 per set payable in advance to Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, PC will be charged for sending Bidding Documents by common carrier. The bidder must also provide their direct shipping account number to the Architect. Deposit will be refunded if the bidding documents are returned in whole, bound and in good condition and returned within ten (10) days after the opening of bids, by a Bidder submitting bona fide bid. All questions must be sent only via mail or facsimile at (609) 883-2694 with the job number referenced. Bid Proposal shall be submitted in separate sealed envelopes for each contract: (1)addressed to the owner, (2)bearing the name and address of the bidder written on the face of the envelope, and (3) clearly marked "BID" with the contract title and/or bid number on the outside of the envelope and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Owner for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00; and must be delivered to the above place on or before the hour named. The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. If the bid exceeds $20,000.00 bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active Pre-qualification/Classification Certificate will be rejected as being non-responsive to bid requirements. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each proposal shall be accompanied by a Proposition of Surety from a Surety Company stating it will provide each bidder with separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. Also, Surety agrees to furnish Bidder with a Maintenance Bond in required form. The Proposition of Surety shall be executed by an approved surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and in accordance with P.L. 1995, c.384 (amending N.J.S.A. 2A:44-143 and 2A:44-144, effective January 10, 1996) and with the three highest rating categories of rating companies nationally recognized and listed as per Appendix A (go to www.nj.gov/dobi/surey.htm). All contractors and subcontractors must provide a Business Registration Certificate (BRC) per N.J.S.A. 52:32-44. The BRC must be on file prior to the bid opening date. Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq. pertaining to the "Public School Contracts Law." All bidders shall comply with The New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. (P.L. 1963, c.150). Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 (P.L. 1975, c.127), and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. and all duly adopted Affirmative Action Regulations. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive informality in the bidding if it is in the interest of the School District to do so.
