Associate Vice President for Facilities & Construction, Division of Administration & Finance at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey This position provides oversight of the management of campus facilities, grounds and infrastructure. Position Summary: The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. This individual will have demonstrated successful experience in managing facilities operations in educational / research institutions, capital programs, and in leading organizational change. He/She will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of Stockton's distinguished campus, which is comprised of 37 buildings, 1.6 million square feet of space. The continued growth of enrollment, the operational needs of complex new space and the repair challenges for the 72% of the campus that is more than 25 years old, presents the fundamental challenge to manage change within the facilities organization, in institutional planning, and in facilities investment planning. This position reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and 10 or more years of relevant experience in working with universities or similar organizations. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven history of leadership and collaboration with educational or similar organizations. These skills will also support the professional development of their staff and organization at large and an ability to represent the College with external parties in collaborative and negotiated relationships. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of and possess demonstrated success with: •Complex operational facilities in support of educational and/or research functions •Principles of engineering and maintenance that enable effective management of facilities • Budgeting and financial accountability •Analyzing complex issues and developing innovative solutions and approaches and, •Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: •A master's degree in an appropriate field and/or certification as a licensed architect or Engineer is preferred as would be LEED certification. •Experience in higher education managing the design, construction, and maintenance of facilities and grounds. •A working knowledge of the State of New Jersey regulations, statutes, rules, and processes •Experience working with union trades. •Knowledge and experience in various aspects of real estate.
