Millville is a small town known for its love of the arts. One of the best places to enjoy live, local, folk music is Bogart's Bookstore and Cafe. Every weekend offers live sounds, and a crowd that can't be beat. Katelyn Phillips, one of Bogart's booksellers, can attest to the one-of-a-kind atmosphere Bogart's offers.

"Bogart's is more like a community of musicians that enjoy playing separately and as a group," Phillips says. "It's mostly folk music that focuses on the quirky places and people that make up southern New Jersey; the musicians are definitely proud of where they come from. Bogart's is one of those quirky places, but also a premier venue for the musicians to gather and jam."

Live the artsy life this weekend at Bogart's.

Be Our Guest

Good Eats: "In three words, Bogart's is eclectic, homey and relaxing," Phillips says. "We also have some great specialty, locally-made pastries, but everyone's favorite is our homemade brownie. We offer San Francisco coffee with rotating flavors like bananas Foster and coconut cream, and we have cold beverages like freshly-brewed teas like mango and black currant. We even have natural doggie biscuits for our canine clients."

Frequent Players: Dan Godbey, Dan Barry, The Troubadour KP, Antfarm, Adelante, Bob White, and Bosco and Peck are a few acts that can be caught playing at Bogart's on a regular basis.

More Than Music: "We also try to encourage readers of all ages with read-alongs and a book club that focuses on the classics," Phillips says. "We have an open mic poetry day that has been running for four years, which is open to poets and musicians."
