Band Spotlight: Ill Rendition at Tailgaters
Hailing from the Atlantic City area, Ill Rendition's sound can be described in three words, at least that's what bassist Maceo P. King says: "It's chill, it's funky and it rocks." Fittingly, the rockers will keep it local when they host a CD-release party for their new album "Bombs Away" Friday, April 29, at Tailgaters in Galloway Township. Opening the show will be Confab and Standing Army.
Roster: Luis Perez, drums; Christian Glomb, vocals, guitar; Maceo P. King, bass.
Who They Jam To: Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, Sublime, Pepper, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake.
Why They Love To Play: "There's something very raw about being a part of a crowd that just isn't the same with a DJ," King says.
Getting The Party Started: "It's about making music that we can jump around on stage to, and that gets the crowd moving and the party going," King says.
Go See Them: Ill Rendition's CD Release Party begins 9 p.m. Friday, April 29 at Tailgaters, 337 W. White Horse Pike, Galloway Township. Other bands on the roster are Confab and Standing Army. Guests can receive a free copy of "Bombs Away," and there is no admission. Call 609-804-9000 for more info.
Ill Rendition will also appear at a benefit in Wildwood on May 13.
