1 Bally's opened its Bikini Beach Bar in 2004, and in May 2010 it re-opened as Sammy Hagar's Beach Bar. Van Halen's former frontman owns nightlife venues in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Las Vegas and St. Louis, Mo., and with his branding on this oceanfront deck, Bally's remade the beachfront bar an outdoor destination with nightly entertainment and all-day deals on drinks.

2 Part of the Hagar, Southern Californian, rock-star essence the bar tries to capture is a daily dedication to the good life. The bar is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., has a DJ, band or both every night and a variety of drink specials. From open to close, every day, enjoy a 32-ounce bucket of Cruzan mixed drinks for $16 ($8 refills), a pitcher of Skyy Infusions drinks for $15 and a 16-ounce draft of Miller Lite for $3.

3 The bar also provides a different vibe every night. Monday is Latin Night, featuring a variety of Latin and salsa music, with specials including $3 Coronas and $5 margaritas. Tuesday is Retro Night, featuring a mix of the 1960s, '70s and '80s, along with $3 Jeremiah Weed and Absolut cocktails. Wet Wednesdays feature some of the resort's premier female DJs and Yeunglings and 10 Cane rum Hurricane drinks for $3. Thursdays feature Rockstar Karaoke, when you can request songs of the band and play lead singer while they back you up. Fridays and Saturdays feature their own drink specials with bands and DJs all day. And Sundays are reggae and industry nights, with $6 Red Stripe pounders.

4 As wild as the bar gets, it's also a good spot to just sit and chill. The 9,000-square-foot deck just over the dunes is nestled in the midst of the ocean and the high-rise casinos, hotels and shops along the Boardwalk. The view captures Atlantic City as not just another shore town, but the unique resort people seek.

5 Despite the bar's name change, the waitresses' uniforms remain the same: red, barely-there bikinis.

The Scene

Heard on a Thursday: The day starts with an array of beach-themed jams, follows with some rock standards throughout the weekly Rockstar Karaoke promotion, and continues with a DJ spinning a mix of party favorites, from "Boombastic" by Shaggy, "Teach Me How to Dougie" by Cali Swag District and "The Cupid Shuffle" by Cupid.

Seen throughout the day: A middle-aged crowd enjoys drinks and the bar's Tex-Mex-style food menu in the early afternoon in a relaxing atmosphere that gets rowdier as the day goes on. The band comes on and the bravest (read: drunkest) audience members dare to get on stage and sing along. At night, the dance floor is alive with people partying, while most tables are full, with others sitting back and relaxing on the warm late spring evening.
