An Absecon man died following a motor vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Egg Harbor Township , according to police.
A pickup truck driven by Francis Wilbur, 77, was headed west on Zion Road at about 1 p.m. when it left the roadway and hit a utility pole, police said in a release. The accident occurred near Poplar Avenue. Wilbur was not wearing a seat belt.
He was treated at the scene and transported to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, where he died. The road was closed for about an hour while police investigated and cleared the crash.
