Just in time for planting season, the Absecon Cultural Arts Alliance will host two workshops on gardening and landscape design.

The first presentation will take place 6:30 p.m. May 8 at the Absecon Library, 305 New Jersey Ave. The Rutgers Cooperative Extension will provide the first workshop with Doug Groff, a certified master gardener, and Len Walk, master gardener intern, who will speak about the principles of gardening along with tips to save time and money when designing home landscapes.

The second workshop will take place 7 p.m. May 15 at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave. Guest speaker will be Bob Preston, professional landscape architect, who will give advice on landscape design. Those who attend are asked to bring drawings, photos and/or surveys of their project.

Both events are free and open to the public. For more information contact Sallie Gorohoff at 609-641-0431.
