ABSECON - A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a car on New Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Kenneth Oglesby, 42, of Hamilton Township, was traveling south on New Road on his motorcycle when a Toyota Avalon, headed north, attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of the Absecon Laundromat.

The car was driven by Rajendra Patel, 57, of Absecon.

The vehicles collided and Oglesby was thrown from his motorcycle.

Oglesby was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Facility, City Campus trauma unit by Absecon Emergency Medical Services.

His condition was not immediately available. Patel and his passenger were uninjured.

The accident caused New Road to be shut down for approximately 90 minutes between Holy Spirit High School and Ohio Avenue.

An investigation is ongoing and no complaints have been filed at this time.
