Gardening presentations set

The Absecon Cultural Arts Alliance will host two workshops on gardening and landscape design.

The first presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. May 8 at the Absecon Library, 305 New Jersey Ave. Rutgers Cooperative Extension will provide the first workshop with Doug Groff, certified Master Gardener, and Len Walk, Master Gardener intern, who will speak about the principles of gardening along with tips to save time and money.

The second session takes place 7 p.m. May 15 at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave. Bob Preston, professional landscape architect, will host a workshop on landscape design. Those who attend are asked to bring drawings, photos or surveys and will be assisted with landscape design issues.

Historical Society presents music program

The Absecon Historical Society will present a music program from 2 to 3 p.m. May 10.

Absecon residents Valerie Armstrong and Roberta Beckler will play the flute, Irish bodrhan, fiddle and viola. The program will include a diverse selection of Celtic, Scottish and American tunes. Light refreshments will be served.
