Absecon raising funds for breast cancer awareness
The City of Absecon’s Community Affairs Committee is raising funds to purchase a breast cancer awareness memorial/honor bench this spring.
The bench is to be pink powder-coated steel and include a 4-by-6-inch stainless plaque. The location of the bench has yet to be determined, but it is to be placed in a visible area. The bench will cost about $800.
Any money left over from the purchase of the bench will be donated to Gilda’s Club. The providing company also will donate $50 to the organization. Donors are asked to include suggestions for the engraving.
The committee asks that donations be mailed to c/o Councilwoman Kim Horton, Municipal Complex, 500 Mill Road, Absecon, NJ 08201. For more information, call Horton at 609-641-6150 or JoAnn Elco at 609-646-4490.
