Meeks wins award
Port Republic teenager Madison Meeks was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals New Jersey Southern Chapter as Young Philanthropist of the Year recently at the chapters’ annual National Philanthropy Day celebration.
Meeks was nominated by CASA for Children of Atlantic and Cape May counties for her fundraising and community awareness efforts on behalf of the organization. Three years ago, Meeks organized a “Cookies for CASA” bake sale in her hometown. Making many of the items on her own, or enlisting the help of family and friends, Meeks has raised more than $500 for CASA over the last three years at the annual bake sale and helped raise community awareness of children living in the foster care system in our community.
