Holy Spirit year book earns recognition
Holy Spirit High School’s yearbook, “Spartan,” has been recognized for excellence and featured in the 2013 Gotcha Covered Look Book, Volume 11 celebrating the best in yearbook design and coverage.
Jostens Look Book is a collection of spreads and photos from outstanding yearbooks.
Along with design excellence, the annual Look Book honors the role well-crafted yearbooks play in helping schools chronicle the experiences, stories and achievements most relevant to students and that academic year.
The Spartan Yearbook was created by students Zach Bailey, Megan Bottino, Erika Bryz-Gornia, Gabbi Chilellli, Abby Couchard, Jenna Gallagher, Jessica Guevara, Erica Havens, Alix Hesley, Jennifer Johnston, Vivian Lee, Mike Lugo, Annalyn Madriaga, Simon Mohr, Joanna Muller, Marina Poupart, Caitlin Randik, Alexis Theuret and Fiona Tran, with Student Editor Marisa Marmaro, and under the direction of Denise Lamanna, Holy Spirit yearbook adviser and English department chair.
The yearbook was one of 425 selected from about 3,000. The 2013 panel of judges was comprised of nationally recognized scholastic journalism professionals and award-winning yearbook advisers. Lamanna and her yearbook staff received a copy of Jostens 2013 Gotcha Covered Look Book and plaque from Jostens to recognize their achievement.
