ATLANTIC CITY - Police said an 18-year-old city resident walked into the emergency room at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center after a bullet grazed his back.
Initially, police responded to a call of shots fired at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of North Maryland Avenue.
Police did not find a victim at the scene, but 30 minutes later they were called to the medical center's city division where a man, identified as Amire Moore, said he had been shot about 30 minutes prior to coming into the emergency room.
Officers then checked the location where Moore said he was shot, 836 North Maryland Avenue, where they found several spent shell casings.
Moore told police he was in a vehicle with three other people and that while driving he observed another vehicle following them.
Police said that Moore parked the vehicle in a parking lot and saw two males approaching on foot. Moore did not provide a physical or clothing description of the males.
Police said that Moore told them shots were fired by the unidentified males and Moore fled on foot into a nearby residence.
Moore sustained a graze wound to his back, and was treated and released.
