Atlantic City police are investigating a shooting in which two people were injured.

Several people called police about 9 p.m. reporting shots fired on the 500 block of North Kentucky Avenue, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.

Upon arrival, police found a victim with wounds to the hip and buttocks, McMenamin said. His name was not immediately known.

He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he underwent surgery.

A second victim was found a few blocks away on the 900 block of North Kentucky Avenue. He had a graze wound to the back.

Witnesses told police that a maroon car was seen leaving the area, McMenamin said. The car was found at Brooks Court, but it was unoccupied. It was towed from the scene.
